Neuron Mobility and Moovit Announce Australian Partnership, Available in Brisbane

Moovit will show users in Brisbane where Neuron e-bikes and e-scooters are available nearby for more alternative and convenient first and last mile options

Brisbane – October 2021

Neuron Mobility, Australia and New Zealand’s  leading micromobility operator, and Moovit, an Intel company, a leading Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solutions provider and creator of the #1 urban mobility app, are announcing a partnership that will offer Moovit users more convenient first and last mile options. Moovit will show users in real-time where Neuron Mobility e-bikes and e-scooters can be found in Brisbane.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the reliance on bikes and scooters to get around has boomed. Moovit’s 2020 Global Public Transport Report found that on average, 58% of cyclists and scooter users in Brisbane prefer to connect their rides with public transport for more efficient first and last segments of a journey.

Neuron launched in Brisbane in August 2019, and a recent Neuron rider survey found an impressive 44% of all trips have replaced a car journey, eliminating an estimated 155 tonnes of Co2.  However, many people still drive their private vehicles to connect with main transport hubs or drive directly to their destination.

That’s why Neuron Mobility and Moovit are partnering up to better connect Brisbanites  with micromobility services and ultimately take more cars off the road. Moovit will show its users in real-time where a Neuron Mobility vehicle is available nearby, including how long it will take to get there.

Richard Hannah, Head of ANZ, Neuron Mobility said: “We are delighted to integrate our e-scooters and e-bikes into Moovit’s service alongside public transport. Over the last few years Brisbanites have embraced micromobility and most now regard it as an essential transport option. The partnership with Moovit will help people plan their journeys in a more environmentally-friendly and efficient way and we look forward to seeing how e-scooters and e-bikes can extend the range of those using public transport across Brisbane.”

Juan Carbonell, Moovit’s Head of Solutions APAC said: “Whether using Neuron Mobility’s e-scooters or e-bikes for the entire journey or combining them with public transport, this partnership furthers our mission of making it easier to rely less on private cars and moving more freely through congested cities. Offering people more sustainable forms of transport that can easily zip them around the city is a critical component of any Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform.”

Moovit simplifies urban mobility all around the world, making getting around town via transport easier and additional multi-modal services more convenient. By combining information from public transport operators and authorities with live information from the user community, Moovit offers travellers a real-time picture, including the best route for the journey, service alerts, and get off notifications. Moovit has guided more than 1 billion users in getting around town, using any mode of transport.
