Residents of Gloucester, Cheltenham and Yeovil now have more alternatives to travel with greater convenience
Gloucester – October 2021
Commuting just got easier for Gloucester, Cheltenham, and Yeovil residents as Moovit, an Intel company, a leading Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solutions provider and creator of the #1 urban mobility app, has added e-scooters to its service thanks to a new partnership with Zwings, leading British micro-mobility operator. Commuters can access multiple public and private transit services in the free Moovit app and will discover convenient and more efficient travel options that save them time and reduce the need for a car for first and last mile options.
According to Zwings’ recent data, 94% of riders were in favour of Zwings rental e-scooters being made a longer-term part of transport infrastructure. Ninety-two percent of respondents considered Zwings’ e-scooters an effective substitute for short car journeys. Lastly, 40% of respondents had used the e-scooters specifically for commuting.
Through Moovit’s partnership with Zwings, Moovit users will now be able to access an inclusive transportation service in the form of an affordable and equitable mobility option that serves riders from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, improving the way people connect with one another, venues and places of business. Moovit will show its users in real-time where a Zwings vehicle is available nearby, including how long it will take to walk there.
“Providing Moovit users with a full suite of travel choices is essential to ensuring that public and shared transport is more attractive than using a private car,” said Luke Redfern, Moovit’s UK Partnerships Manager. “It’s great to see organisations such as Zwings pioneering change to our mobility system and bringing e-scooters to UK towns and cities. This partnership means users have reliable, accurate and up-to-date information on the availability of Zwings vehicles at all times.”
CEO of Zwings, Joe Lewin: “It is fantastic to have partnered with Moovit to provide wider, quicker access to a range of transport solutions at the tap of a button. From short trips across town via e-scooter to longer distance bus journeys we encourage our community to embrace the future of travel.”
Moovit simplifies your urban mobility around the world, making getting around town via transit easier and additional multi-modal services more convenient. By combining information from public transit operators and authorities with live information from the user community, Moovit offers travelers a real-time picture, including the best route for the journey, service alerts, and get off notifications.
