Moovit has joined the Association for Open Data of Public Transportation to provide local commuters a smoother journey on public transport
Moovit, creator behind the #1 commuter app, and Association for Open Data of Public Transportation (ODPT) in Japan, are announcing their partnership to enhance public transport access across Japan. Moovit is officially launching its service in five key Japanese cities: Tokyo, Yokohama and Kyoto — thanks to its strategic partnership with ODPT — as well as Hiroshima, Kumamoto. With data from 164 transport agencies, Moovit is bringing 24 million Japanese residents the most comprehensive transit information in one easy-to-use app.
Now, riders across Japan can seamlessly plan and navigate their public transit journeys with Moovit’s free iOS, Android, and Web app. Moovit integrates official information from local transit agencies with real-time crowdsourced updates, ensuring users receive the most accurate, up-to-date information to make informed travel decisions. The app has integrated more than 54,000 stops and 3,500 lines across the five cities to be able to suggest the best routes across various urban mobility options, including buses, trains, metro, light rail, micro-mobilities, ferries delivering a smoother and more efficient travel experience.
