Moovit On-Demand comes in two flavors to best fit your unique needs: Smart Shuttles and Flexible Demand Response

Both on-demand service models offer your riders less walking, less waiting, shorter in-vehicle times, and fewer transfers and give you the tools and data they need to continuously optimize service as needed. It also digitizes the process so that riders enjoy the convenience of in-app booking and allows operators to better understand daily demand.

Flexible Demand Response

Flexible Demand Response is on-call during service operation, meaning any passenger in the service area can request a pick-up and drop-off. 

The On-Demand vehicle picks up and drops off passengers using dynamically generated routes and usually uses common pick-up and drop-off points. The rider is directed to the closest pick-up point and their vehicle drops them off at the drop-off point closest to their final destination. Operators can also offer a curb-to-curb or door-to-door experience.

  • Decreasing operational costs and increasing service levels in low demand areas
  • First-/last-mile connectivity
  • Replacing Dial-a-Ride services

Smart Shuttles

Smart Shuttles require passengers to pre-schedule their rides, which allows operators to automatically create fixed routes that stop only at the predetermined pickup points with passengers who booked in advance. 

Operators can choose between fixed itineraries with flexible time tables or fixed itineraries with on-demand deviations to best fit their riders’ needs.
