Newly-Launched “Cross Region Journey Planner” enables Leading Urban Mobility App’s UK Moovit Riders to effectively navigate public transport between different urban areas
London, UK, March 2024
Moovit, a leading Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solutions provider and creator of the global urban mobility app with over 1.7 billion users, announced the launch of “Cross Region Journey Planning”, a feature that facilitates public transportation ridership between Regions throughout the entire United Kingdom.
The Moovit App’s Journey Planner guides a transport rider anywhere in and around a Region with a three-step process:
Cross Region extensively elevates journey planning to allow for inter region travel guidance – enabling the rider to search for, and select, routes between metropolitan areas that are located in different Regions across the United Kingdom.
As an example, Moovit users can now seamlessly plan a journey from Liverpool Street Station in London (in the UK’s South East Region) to Oxford Road in Manchester (in the UK’s North West Region).
Following the successful implementation and adoption of Cross Region Journey Planning in the UK – as well as Spain and France – Moovit will expand Region-to-Region journey planning to additional European countries, as well as many more globally from among the 112 countries that Moovit supports.
“Used in over 3,500 cities worldwide, Moovit is committed to continually enhance the functionality and value that we provide our users, who rely on our mobility App to comfortably and efficiently navigate public and shared transportation for their work, social lives, and everyday travel needs,” said Yovav Meydad, Moovit’s Chief Growth and Marketing Officer.
“Embodying the ongoing evolution of Moovit, the Cross Region Journey Planning experience offers a helpful, impactful inter region travel planning option. We are excited to offer this new Feature in response to our users’ needs, support of their increasingly dynamic travel patterns – as well as in pursuit of Moovit’s fundamental belief in Mobility as a basic human right for everyone.”
