Partnering with Distribusion, the leading B2B ground transport marketplace equips Moovit users with the ability to plan, purchase, and ride intercity transport journeys with hundreds of European carriers including Deutsche Bahn, Trenitalia, and National Express
Moovit, creator behind the #1 commuter app, and Distribusion Technologies, global leader in ground transportation technologies, are announcing their partnership to empower public transport passengers to easily plan journeys and purchase tickets for intercity transport across more than 40 European countries directly from the Moovit app.
This collaboration follows Moovit’s 2024 announcement allowing its users in 3,500 cities across 112 countries to be able to plan cross-region journeys. Now, they can pay for them too, starting with hundreds of European transport operators, thanks to the Distribusion partnership.
As urban mobility continues to evolve, the need for efficient and user-friendly journey planning and ticketing solutions has become paramount. The Moovit and Distribusion partnership aims to address this demand by connecting Distribusion’s extensive carrier network of European transport operators to the Moovit app.
This API integration to Distribusion will allow Moovit users to easily plan, purchase and validate journeys for intercity travel, including cross-border journeys, with mobility options such as long-distance trains, buses, and ferries.
“We are pleased to partner with Distribusion and believe that collaboration is key to simplifying travel and making it more accessible,” said Tomer Asheroff, Moovit’s VP Business Development. “Offering a unified mobility platform, one place where Moovit’s 1.5 billion users can plan and pay for ground travel across Europe — and plan the first and last mile segments of their journey — is a significant step towards enhancing public transport connectivity, and contributing to more sustainable travel options.”
Distribusion, known for its commitment to providing comprehensive travel solutions for ground transportation, shares Moovit’s vision of creating an efficient and accessible transport ecosystem.
“We are thrilled to partner with Moovit to enable travelers to not just plan cross-regional journeys, but to book them seamlessly.” said Johannes Thunert, Chief Business Officer of Distribusion Technologies. “Our collaboration with Moovit will make multi-city travel more accessible than ever. We’re grateful to be a key partner in Moovit’s expansion across Europe and beyond.”
People can purchase tickets directly in the Moovit iOS or Android apps, or on the Web.
