In honor of Independence Day we are so glad to announce that we’ve expanded Moovit’s app coverage to an additional 168 US cities and towns, across 13 states! 

With this expansion, a total of 192 million Americans can access Moovit and find the most convenient ways to get around using public and shared transit — not just on Independence Day, but everyday — for cleaner, better, and smarter cities.

Whether heading to the beach, a barbeque, or a favorite fireworks spot, Moovit offers you access to the most comprehensive urban mobility information so you can plan your trip and have the smoothest possible journey around their city and surrounding areas. In addition to real-time arrival information in some cities, Live Directions with step-by-step guidance for the entire journey, and Service Alerts, current and new Moovit users can benefit from other features that are especially useful during Independence Day. This includes the most updated transit schedules to see if networks are operating on normal or holiday schedules, and reports on crowding levels enabling users to avoid crowded stations and lines once events are finished.

With Moovit’s significant US coverage expansion:

• Moovit is available in an additional 168 US cities and towns, across 13 states
• Moovit is providing access to a total of 192 million Americans for more convenient transit commutes
• A total of 13,663 routes and 1,412,645 stops have been mapped and added into Moovit’s offering
• Moovit is now offering service in an extra 50,000 square miles
• Real-time information has been added in 6 regions in Greater Pennsylvania and Springfield, MA, with more to come

Moovit’s coverage expansion offers users smoother commutes within larger regions and between state lines thanks to having merged several newly added cities and towns with regions where Moovit was already available. Examples include the ability to plan journeys throughout the entire state of Colorado; Greater Pittsburgh, which encompasses a third of Pennsylvania; and the merging of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC for more efficient trip planning in the tristate area. Other new areas where Moovit is available, such as Maui, Hawaii are standalone cities in the Moovit app.
