Moovit Congratulates Uber for launching Public Transport in London

Published: April 30, 2019

Live from London, Uber CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi announced via his personal Twitter account the launch of London public transport data and routes within the Uber app. With this development, we are excited to continue the expansion of our partnership with Uber to London.
Moovit is partnering with Uber to provide its world-leading transit APIs for Uber to include transit data in its app. This transit information includes public transit trip planning and details about transit lines, routes and arrival times. London is the second city where this service is delivered by Uber, following Denver which was the first city where public transit integration was launched.

How it Works

Once an Uber rider enters their destination, they will see “Public Transport” next to other available transportation options in their city. When selected, they will then be able to view available transit routes that will get them to their destination, along with live arrivals for buses, underground and rail, departure and travel times, and receive walking directions to/from the transit stations.

The Moovit Advantage

Moovit Co-founder and CEO Nir Erez said, “Moovit’s mission is to simplify urban mobility all around the world and we want to be part of every single urban ride within the next few years. We are proud of our partnership with Uber and its expansion to London.”
Moovit owns and operates the world’s largest repository of transit data, comprised of data from more than 7,000 transit agencies and augmented with data from Moovit’s community of users. Moovit has more than 400 million users and its free urban mobility app provides full multi-modal transit options in more than 2,700 cities in 90 countries.
