Moovit Improves Service Alerts on App

Published: August 20, 2018

Service disruptions to public transit can happen for various reason, whether it’s unforeseen circumstances like leaves on the train tracks or a road closure for a planned parade.

Knowledge is power, so although disruptions can be a nuisance, Moovit aims to reduce the element of surprise. When you plan your trip via public transit, you can find an alternative route or at least be well-prepared and allow enough time to get to your destination.

Moovit has made it easier to see Service Alerts for disruptions that may impact your journey. Moovit receives the information directly from local transit authorities so, if there’s a disruption on your line, you will automatically see a notification at the bottom of the screen with a summary of the change.

Moovit categorizes the level of disruption with a red or yellow alert.

Red Service Alerts

Signifies no service or suspension of service for part of the route.
