With the help of our brilliant Community Editors, we were able to open another city. Today, we are happy to welcome Comodoro Rivadavia in Argentina to the app.
Nicknamed “Comodoro”, the city lies on the San Jorge Gulf in the Chubut province. It’s named after Comodore Martín Rivadavia, who toured Patagonia in the late 19th century. His intention was to create a Patagonian port connecting Argentina to the rest of the world.
He succeeded in his mission. These days, the city is modern, with a large industrial center providing services to the entire region. Although it’s an important export point for Argentine petroleum, the city still has many charms to attract tourists.
Expect to find classic Argentinian fare, including delicious cuts of beef and empanadas. After a delicious dinner, use Moovit to get to the best ice cream store in town, Del Viento.
In terms of nature, Mount Chenque is a popular viewing paint, which an especially good spot to take in the glorious views of the city and the Gulf.
Comodoro is also known as an hub to explore some of the amazing beach towns nearby. Rada Tilly is particularly popular for windsurfing, kitesurfing, diving and snorkeling.
