Moovit’s New Partner in Italy
In today’s world — to get smoothly from place to place — all you need is a smartphone and the right app. Enter Moovit, the world’s #1 urban mobility app. In this context, Moovit frequently integrates world-leading mobility providers, in conjunction with public transit options. And, Italy has just been upgraded thanks to a new partnership.
Moovit integrated with FREE NOW (formerly mytaxi), one of Europe’s leading ride-hailing services. As stated by FREE NOW, “Running up and down the street trying to find a ride is now a thing of the past. Just tap on your smartphone, whenever and wherever you are, and wait for your ride to arrive right in front of you. It’s your personal freedom — on demand.”
With this in mind, Italians — and, visitors, alike — will now be able to see, and utilize, the 4,500 taxis comprising the FREE NOW taxi fleet. This includes Milan, Rome, Turin, Naples, Catania, Palermo and Cagliari.
How it Works
Within the app, users are offered FREE NOW taxis, in conjunction with other diverse mobility options. If a user decides to book the taxi service, they need to tap a button within Moovit and be led to the FREE NOW app. Samuel Sed Piazza, Director of Moovit’s European Partnerships hit the nail on the head, stating “Urban mobility is no longer a puzzle: together with FREE NOW every tile has been inserted into its place.”
The FREE NOW option may be found within three locations on Moovit: the Directions screen, under Suggested Routes screen, and as a floating button on the Stations screen.
