Moovit Commends Uber for Launching Transit in New York, Washington, DC, and São Paulo
Published: November 6, 2019
Uber users in São Paulo, New York City, and Washington, DC can now rejoice as Uber Transit is now available in those metro areas, thanks to its partnership with Moovit.
Powered by Moovit’s world-leading transit API, Uber is continuing its worldwide rollout of Uber Transit, which offers public transit data to millions around the globe. São Paulo, New York and Washington, DC will round out a dozen major cities that this feature is available in.
Uber Transit provides users with more options to get from point A to point B with public transit. Thanks to Moovit’s API, Uber users traveling in those three metro areas will be able to plan public transit trips and view details on transit lines, routes, arrival times, and pricing in addition to the ride-hailing options that Uber is known for.
How it Works
Once Uber riders enter their destination, they will see “Transit” next to other available transportation options in their city. When selected, they will then be able to view available transit routes that will get them to their destination, along with live arrivals for buses, underground and rail, departure and travel times, and receive walking directions to/from the transit stations.
